Problem addressed

Traditional displays impose a trade-off between portability with tiny screens or bulky and fragile setups; while the whole display using NAMI's wrinkleless screen, co-developed with Arovia Hong Kong Limited, can be collapsed to the size and weight of a book, making traveling with ease possible.

Innovation
  • NAMI has developed a new flexible optical polymer material having a dynamic crosslinking structure which contributes to its high resilience, making the screen wrinkle resistant.
  • High reflective index transparent additives are utilized to manipulate the optical paths for high resolution, hotspot reduction, and wider viewing angles.
  • Optical additives such as light-selective nanoparticles and color additives are also adopted to sharpen the peak wavelength and inhibit the impact of ambient light. The synergy effect results in contrast ratio improvement.
Key impact
  • Wrinkle-free screen with over 24-inch projection
  • High-resolution (2K) and bright images without hotspots
  • Sharp color (contrast ratio >10) and wide viewing angle (~180°)
  • Soft and flexible screen with low cost
Award
  • Winner of 2023 R&D100 Awards
  • Silver Medal at the “2023 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions”
  • Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 Innovation Awards
Application
  • Advertisement board
  • Home theater screen
  • Building projection
