Problem addressed

Adhesion on wet surface is always a big challenge in building. Silicone sealant incorporated with NAMI’s bonding additive enables good bonding strength on wet surface, exceeding the basic requirements for site works.

Innovation
  • This is a bio-inspired additive technology to maintain over 70% bonding strength on wet surface.
Key impact
  • Diversified applications and can be integrated in various building materials such as coatings, sealants, adhesive and tape, etc.
  • Effective with low dosage of 5wt% or below
  • Mild synthetic conditions for additive manufacture
  • Non-toxic and environmental friendly
Application
  • Movement joint filling for various wet substrates for window, curtain wall, bathroom, etc.
  • Adhesion for floor, wall, roof, etc.
  • Water leakage repair for pipes
Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI)
