Problem addressed

The important bottleneck in nucleic acid analysis is sample preparation. Our biochip can be utilized as an effective preparative tool for rapid purification of nucleic acids from contaminants. Some of these contaminants are challenging to remove through existing methods and yet known to inhibit or interfere with downstream analyses in PCR.

Innovation
  • Artificial biochip optimized for rapid (< 1 h) nucleic acid isolation and purification
  • Uncover crucial source of human genetic polymorphism for personalized and precision medicines
Key impact
  • Artificial sieve design optimized for rapid (< 1 h) electrophoretic focusing and purification of DNA.
  • Electrophoretic focusing and purification protocol optimized for maximum DNA yield and purity.
Application
  • Artificial biochip optimized for rapid (< 1 h) nucleic acid isolation and purification
  • Uncover crucial source of human genetic polymorphism for personalized and precision medicines
