Problem addressed

Most commercially available insecticide sprays are toxic and irritant to human and pets. Therefore, they are not suitable for long-term use. NAMI has developed a coating technology to deliver non-toxic anti-bug formulations that can be applied to various materials.

Innovation
  • NAMI’s anti-bug formulations contain herbal materials as the active ingredients, which are delivered by water-based nanocarrier system. 
  • These formulations are non-irritant, odorless and do not contain harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs), being safe to human and animals.

NAMI, incorporated in 2006, is designated by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Government as a Research and Development Center for nanotechnology and advanced materials. NAMI undertakes and provides support for market-driven research in nanotechnology and advanced materials, and strives for commercialization of the technologies to benefit the industry and the society at large, as well as re-industrialization to promote the economic growth and sustainability of Hong Kong.
