Problem addressed

The invention solved the drawback of Fe-Cr-Ni based corrosion-resistive steel for its low strengthness to be used as construction materials, as well the possible release of nickel in wearable devices

Key impact
  • Stronger ability to resist environmental corrosion than 316L stainless steel, the surface characterization shows the oxide film of the invention in thicker than which on 316L stainless steel. Meanwhile, the invention has a more complete passivation state
  • Much higher strength than 316L stainless steel, the values were twice greater than those of commercial 316L stainless steel
  • Good long-term corrosion resistance, after rolling process (the rolling amount is 50% of the thickness of the raw material), the yield strength is as high as 1700 Mpa, but the corrosion resistance is equivalent to that of the sample before rolling
Application
  • The invention has various applications in which requiring a combination of good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance
  • Offshore platforms and constructions, ships, desalination machines used in sea water
  • Energy, heavy industries
  • Other high end consumer products like kitchen accessories, etc

Patent

  • PRC Patent Application No. 202010563089.8
